Building A Strong Community

Building A Strong Community

The dictionary defines a community as "a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society".  Here at Tapestri Square in Midtown Sacramento, we certainly are building just such a community, and we're always looking for ways to bring that community even closer together.

When we started building Tapestri Square, we envisioned a place where neighbors would share the common interest of getting the best out of midtown living: the parks, the entertainment, the dining, and the shopping.  More than that, though, we wanted to see a real community develop, where neighbors who started as strangers would develop life-long friendships and connections.

We're already seeing those bonds form.  Right from the beginning, we've seen our neighbors making the kind of connections that will lead to friendships, and eventually to the formation of a solid community.

In the coming weeks, months, and years, we encourage all of our residents to join us in making Tapestri Square the greatest community in Midtown Sacramento.  How can you help?  We recommend the following:

1.  Get to know your neighbors.  Whether it's an invitation to dinner or an informal chat over coffee, make an effort to learn about the background and interests of the folks you share Tapestri Square with.  Did you know that we have three yoga enthusiasts here? Four homes with furry friends? An anesthesiologist to give you quick medical advice (I would know...)?  A computer guy to help you wire your gadgets when you move in (you can tell him I said that)? And you should never run out of soap considering one of our resident’s makes it right in her garage! Take advantage of your interesting neighbors – they’re really quite unique.

2.  Go for a walk or ride.  In today's fast-paced world, we like to move fast.  That means that, for the most part, if we have somewhere to go, we like to drive.  You'll be surprised, though, at how much you can learn about your neighborhood and surroundings by just heading out for a walk or a bike ride.  A quick trip to the grocery store or your favorite neighborhood bistro can turn into an adventure of discovery... and you'll probably meet some fantastic people, as well. If nothing else, you can always stop by the sales office on your way back home and we’ll keep a few good jokes up our sleeves…

3.  Plan a field trip.  Whether you get a group together to enjoy the Second Saturday Art Walk or plan a group outing to one of the many nearby theaters, planning a group activity can be a great way to get to know your fellow residents (and no, we’re not just fishing for invites…).

4.  Tell a friend about Tapestri Square.  If you have a friend who is looking for a change of pace, encourage them to check out what Tapestri Square has to offer.  We're here to make finding the ideal Midtown home a snap, and we would love to give your friends a tour so they can decide if Tapestri Square is a good fit.

If you have any additional suggestions for making Tapestri Square an even better place to live the Midtown lifestyle, we'd love to hear them.  Leave us a comment with your feedback or questions.  Together, we can make Tapestri Square the ideal destination for Midtown living.
